Dancing in the lake

In the hot, dry summer, plenty of plants were in need of water, especially the trees. Bringing out the regular hose wasn’t enough, because the amount of water coming out of it was not a lot. We decided to bring out our fire hose and use that instead. As the water was turned on, the sticks on the ground caused it to slash everywhere. Almost every sunset was spent like this, and the way the last rays of sunshine hit the splashing water droplets was magical. Everything looked sparkling and glittery, and the blades of grasses danced around the water beautifully. The light broke into colourful streaks in the water making it look like blooming flowers. After some time the ground didn’t drink up all the water, and it made a puddle that became bigger and bigger. For me that puddle felt like a lake, I took off my slippers and splashed around in it having plenty of fun. After the first time we did this, I couldn’t wait to water the trees again, and have the grass dance with me in the water.
